Absentee Bid Results
Copley will email all absentee bidders with their results immediately after the sale.

Invoices
Invoices will be emailed after the sale. A hard copy is available on request. Payment is due and payable upon receipt of the invoice, and a monthly service charge of 1.5% will be added to unpaid balances beginning 30 days after the sale date.

Payment
Payment may be made by cash, check, ACH transfer, or wire transfer. Credit cards may be used only for amounts up to $10,000 of the total invoice. The auction house reserves the right to hold property until payment has cleared. A monthly service charge of 1.5% will be added to unpaid balances beginning 30 days after the sale date.

Sales tax
All purchases picked up or shipped within Massachusetts are subject to the Massachusetts sales tax (currently 6.25%) unless the purchaser qualifies for an exemption. If you have a valid tax exemption certificate, please submit it with your registration.

Copley Fine Art Auctions is continually working with its tax advisors to monitor tax law changes and to enhance its multistate sales tax obligations. As with all out-of-state sellers, Copley Fine Art Auctions is required to collect sales tax from buyers in states where economic nexus has been reached. When this occurs, applicable state and local sales taxes will be included on the invoice. Buyers with valid resale certificates on file with the auction house will remain exempt. Out-of-state sales taxes will be based on the delivery location. Please contact us to determine whether your purchase is subject to applicable sales taxes.

Shipping
Copley does not offer in-house packing or shipping. For clients who require shipping, please complete the Shipping Release Form and return it with your payment. The form includes a list of shippers we frequently work with. If you would like a quote before choosing a shipper, please contact the shippers directly. If you know which shipper you would like to use, return the form with your payment, and Copley will contact your shipper to arrange pick up of your lot(s). Please note that a daily storage fee of $5 will be charged for items not picked up within 30 days of the sale date.

Pick Up
Items can be picked up at our office by appointment after the auction. We kindly ask that all items be picked up for shipment within 30 days of the sale date.
